Started as a young neo-rockabilly band named "The Timberoaks"
at the end on the 1980's, the Milwaukee Wildmen matured and went their
own original way through the psychobilly scene. As die-hard rock'n'rollers
they have honed their craft over the past years, going psycho to the bone
from all over Europe and Russia to California. And the Milwaukee Wildmen
always deliver, no matter if they are playing at a Mexican barbecue where
the LAPD storms in to bust "illegal activities", or at a pub
so jampacked that gorgeous girls get drunk just by licking the sweat of
your back.
What sets Milwaukee Wildmen apart from the pack is their truly unique
style. The riot-inciting drums, rattlin' stand-up bass and reigning
guitar sounds bring all kinds of good music to life, with fast forward
rock'n'roll as the main tagline. The psychobilly essentials are firm,
but on top of that is a whole lot more: from fierce metal riffing to
hardcore speedbeats. Take rockabilly to the extreme, and you're not
even close.
After already having released 4 full-length albums and a compilation
vinyl called "To The Bone", the Milwaukee Wildmen released
another killing CD, titled "Strike Back" on our Drunkabilly
Label in November 2006. It's another typical Wildmen-release fuelled
with crazy & hard rockin' self-penned originals, as we're used from
them. But they also live up to their reputation of revitalizing old
favourites. Stan Ridgway's 80's pop-hitsong "Camouflage" gets
the Wildmen treatment and comes out as a howling blood'n'guts blast
of rock. The climax is a morbid tribute to The Meteors, as they dig
up the classic "Slow Down You Grave Robbin' Bastard".
Described as the best live band in Holland behind Peter Pan Speedrock"
(LiveXS magazine), there's no way to slow down with the Milwaukee Wildmen.
Up until today the band has been sharing bills, flyers and stages all
over Europe & US with bands/artists like Ice-T, The Bones, US Bombs,
Pennywise, The Meteors, Flogging Molly, Peter Pan Speedrock, Batmobile,
Mad Sin, Last Resort, Nekromantix and many more. They bring you the
sort of tunes that will stick between your ears like Traci Lords on
a hot rod.
